

The players visited children in three different units, including the Pediatric ICU and our Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU). They knelt beside beds, played mini “hockey,” jumped into games and truly met the kids where they were. For a while, they weren’t champions on the ice—they were just big kids themselves, creating joyful moments and offering a much-needed distraction during a hospital stay.
As Nevada’s largest and most comprehensive children’s hospital, and home to the state’s only congenital heart program, Sunrise Children’s Hospital is so grateful for community partners like UNLV Hockey who show up in meaningful ways and help brighten our patients’ days.
