In celebration of National Grandparents Day, hundreds of Las Vegas grandparents, grandchildren and families will come together on Saturday, September 12, 2026, for a free community day of food, fun and connection.

The no-cost Love Across Generations event, hosted by the Clark County Whitney Recreation Center and UnitedHealthcare is designed to bring it all together. The partners came together to celebrate grandparents and to recognize a real need many families face today, including food insecurity among older adults. Families will share a brunch together, take home a box of healthy food, join a food demonstration and fitness class, and connect with resources to help them live healthier.

The day opens with brunch in the gym and live entertainment from Jonny Bird, followed by a welcome program honoring grandparents. Families then rotate through three activity sessions: a food demonstration, an all-levels fitness class, and a game of Jeopardy. Family games in the gym follow in the afternoon. Face painters, balloon art, a photo booth and lawn games run throughout, and every grandparent will take home a box of healthy food. Dr. Health E. Hound, the Health Plan of Nevada mascot, will greet families and pose for photos.

A special UnitedHealthcare website, CelebrateGrandparents.com, offers resources, healthy activities and information for grandparents and grandfamilies to celebrate them all year long.
