25 Nevada Oncology Practice’s Physicians Recognized by Castle Connolly

For 2018, two Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada physicians were named to Castle Connolly’s prestigious “America’s Top Doctors” list and twenty-three physicians were named “Regional Top Doctors,” spanning the specialties of medical oncology and hematology, radiation oncology, pulmonary disease, and surgery. The list is billed as America’s trusted source for identifying top doctors.

Among the honorees, Wolfram Samlowski, MD, FACP and Nicholas J. Vogelzang, MD, FASCO, FACP were named “America’s Top Doctors.”

Samlowski is a world-renown physician and research scientists who serves on the Developmental Therapeutics and Genitourinary Committees for US Oncology Research as well as a Clinical Professor of Medicine at University of Nevada School of Medicine. Dr. Samlowski has contributed to, and authored, more than 150 publications, peer reviews and abstracts.

Dr. Nicholas Vogelzang is a globally recognized medical oncologist and cancer researcher who has authored/coauthored numerous peer-reviewed articles, book chapters and abstracts and has given hundreds of lectures and presentations to his peers worldwide. He has led research in Las Vegas for two recent FDA-approved prostate cancer treatments – Provenge and Xofigo – and has been featured in national and local media outlets in relation to his cancer research work including The New York Times, USA Today, New England Journal of Medicine, Nature and 60 Minutes.

Nominations for inclusion on the list can be made on both the regional and national level and all licensed physicians, MDs and DOs (Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine) are invited to participate. Through careful analysis of board certifications, scrutiny of medical education, training, professional achievements, malpractice and disciplinary history, among other qualifications, the Castle Connolly team received more than 100,000 nominations.
