The nonprofit Starlight Children’s Foundation’s toy deliveries aim to reach 80,000 kids during the holiday season.

Hundreds of hospitals nationwide, including Children’s Medical Center at Summerlin Hospital in Las Vegas, are receiving pallets of toys with the help of the nonprofit Starlight Children’s Foundation, America’s broadest-reaching charity focused on sick kids.

The nonprofit aims to reach 80,000 kids across the country by delivering thousands of toys to partner hospitals to help foster a sense of normalcy and bring a little holiday magic and moments of happiness right to their rooms.

Las Vegas Raiders punter AJ Cole and placekicker Daniel Carlson will join Starlight to help distribute toys to young patients and their siblings at Children’s Medical Center at Summerlin Hospital, delivering happiness and comfort when they need it most, especially during the holiday season.

A simple toy can offer a welcome distraction from the hospital environment, helping reduce stress and anxiety while encouraging positive interactions between patients and healthcare teams. Research has also shown that playing with toys can help reduce the need for sedation during procedures. Altogether, these benefits can lead to improved health literacy and better overall outcomes for young patients.
