Southern Hills Hospital and Medical Center hosted a special training exercise in collaboration with the Clark County School District Police Department’s (CCSDPD) K-9 Unit on Wednesday, May 1st.

As part of ongoing commitment to ensuring the safety and security of our patients and staff, the hospital has invited CCSDPD to conduct K-9 drills in newly expanded 6th floor space before it opens to patients. This exercise will allow the K-9 teams to familiarize themselves with the layout of the floor and practice their search techniques in a realistic environment.

The CCSDPD brought in K-9 teams, including four firearms detection dogs and two drug detection dogs. Prior to the start of the drills, training aids were strategically placed throughout the 6th floor to simulate real-world scenarios.

Hospital staff was present to observe the drills. No patients were on the floor during the drills, ensuring that the exercise could be conducted safely and effectively.

This collaboration with CCSDPD highlights  Southern Hills Hospital and Medical Center’s commitment to providing a safe and secure environment for all who enter our facility.
