Southern Hills Expanding Continuum of Care in Southwest Las Vegas
Southern Hills Hospital and Medical Center is proud to announce the official opening of its new Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit, the final phase of the hospital’s 7th floor vertical expansion. The 28,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art unit represents a significant milestone for the community and addresses a critical need for comprehensive rehabilitation services in southwest Las Vegas.
With the opening of this unit, patients will no longer need to transfer to another facility following an acute hospital stay to receive intensive rehabilitation care. The new unit offers 20 spacious private patient rooms designed to support recovery from major medical events such as stroke, complex surgeries, spinal cord injuries and a range of neurological conditions, effectively closing a long-standing gap in care.
The Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit is equipped with advanced, cutting-edge technology to support optimal patient recovery. Highlights include a virtual reality rehabilitation system which allows clinicians to make real-time adjustments based on patient progress or challenges. The expansive therapy gym also features body-weight–supported systems, a car transfer training system and a comprehensive suite of rehabilitation equipment tailored to help patients regain function, independence and quality of life.

Dedicated resources for speech-language pathology further enhance the comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
