Event Help During Las Vegas Science and Technology Festival

Southern Hills Hospital, a leading healthcare provider in the Las Vegas community, hosted an engaging and educational robotics event in conjunction with the Las Vegas Science and Technology Festival Sunday. The event attracted over 450 attendees, including children, parents, and technology enthusiasts, for a day filled with interactive learning and fun activities.

Attendees had the unique opportunity to explore cutting-edge robotics technology up close and personal. Southern Hills Hospital showcased a variety of state-of-the-art robots, including the Globus Robot, DaVinci Robot, Ion Robot, Stryker Mako Robot, and Mazor Robot. Children and adults alike were fascinated as they learned about the capabilities and applications of these innovative machines, fostering a deeper understanding of robotics and its impact on healthcare and beyond.

In addition to the robotics exhibition, Southern Hills Hospital also hosted a Teddy Bear Clinic, where children had the chance to learn essential caregiving skills as they tended to their beloved teddy bears. The clinic provided a fun and interactive environment for kids to engage with healthcare professionals and learn about the importance of compassion and empathy in patient care.

The event wouldn’t have been complete without the support of our community partners. Volunteers from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) joined the festivities, showcasing their iconic pink patrol car and introducing attendees to McGruff the Crime Fighting Dog. LVMPD Summerlin Area Command and Las Vegas Fire & Rescue Bomb Squad were also present, offering valuable insights into public safety and emergency response.

“We were thrilled to see such a fantastic turnout for our robotics event,” said Cassandra Jones, Director of Communications at Southern Hills Hospital. “It was inspiring to witness the curiosity and enthusiasm of all the attendees as they explored the world of robotics and healthcare. We are grateful to our community partners and everyone who joined us for making this event a tremendous success.”
