MountainView Hospital is celebrating 30 years of serving the Las Vegas Valley, a milestone that reflects three decades of clinical excellence, community commitment and continued growth alongside one of the nation’s fastest-growing regions.
When the hospital opened in 1996, it began as a 120-bed facility serving a rapidly expanding community. Today, MountainView is a 489-bed acute care hospital with three freestanding emergency rooms and a Graduate Medical Education program launched in 2016 to help train the next generation of physicians for Southern Nevada. MountainView Hospital is also the only hospital in Las Vegas offering a comprehensive education and training program for prehospital professionals across the Las Vegas Valley through its Paramedic Institute.
As MountainView has grown, so has its national reputation. For the third consecutive year, the hospital has been named one of Healthgrades’ Top 100 Hospitals in the nation — placing it in the top 2% of hospitals across the country for clinical performance and patient outcomes.
“To be recognized among the top hospitals in the nation as we celebrate 30 years is incredibly meaningful,” said Chief Executive Officer of MountainView Hospital Alexis Mussi. “This distinction belongs to our physicians, nurses and colleagues whose dedication defines who we are.”
In addition to its education and training programs, MountainView Hospital is home to the only day hospital and cellular therapy program in the state for the treatment of blood cancer and other blood diseases through a national partnership with the Sarah Cannon Cancer Network.
To mark the anniversary, ten original employees — still serving at MountainView three decades later — gathered for a commemorative photo. Their continued commitment reflects the culture that has shaped the hospital since 1996: a shared purpose of delivering outstanding care while creating an environment where people can grow and thrive.
Looking ahead, MountainView is investing in renovations and enhancements across its campus, modernizing existing spaces while planning thoughtfully for the future to meet the evolving needs of the Las Vegas Valley.
