Intermountain Healthcare Supports the Las Vegas Community
As 2020 came to a close and reflecting on everything the pandemic has done on a global and national scale, the senior executives at Intermountain Healthcare in Nevada wanted to provide a significant monetary donation to local non-profits that serve our community. Recognizing the current needs of southern Nevada and those working to enhance social determinants of health, a couple of organizations emerged as significant contributors to the recovery that are in alignment with our values and mission.
Three Square does a tremendous job of helping fight hunger in southern Nevada. As food insecurities continue to be one of the most significant challenges resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, Intermountain doubled down on the original committed amount of $25,000 and provided $50,000.
Another non-profit Intermountain previously volunteered for is Clean the World. The non-profit works with hotels to reuse and repurpose slightly used soap bars and shampoo bottles. The supplies are provided in kits that are given to the homeless to help with their sanitization efforts. As a result of the pandemic, Clean the World increased its population served in 2020 from 200,00 annually to 3.5 million. Intermountain in Nevada also provided Clean the World with a donation of $25,000 to help the non-profit with its ongoing sanitization efforts.
These donations, and support of local events like the Raiders Way 5K, are part of how Intermountain Healthcare shows our patient care extends beyond the clinic. As we help our community recover from the devastation of COVID-19, we’ll continue to volunteer and be vigilant of ways we can have an impact to better the lives of those in southern Nevada.
