Esteemed physician brings more than 23 years of expertise and research in movement disorders to lead distinguished program

Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health  (CCLRCBH) and the Center for Neurological Restoration (CNR) welcomes Zoltan Mari, MD as the Center’s new Section Head of the Nevada Movement Disorders Program and the Lee Pascal Parkinson’s Disease Scholar. Mari joins CCLRCBH after more than 10 years at Johns Hopkins University, where he most recently served as the Chief Director of the Parkinson’s and Movement Disorders. An expert in Parkinson’s disease (PD), Mari holds an extensive background in research and utilizes a dynamic approach to treatment, specializing in deep brain stimulation, clinical neurophysiology and more. Dr. Mari’s recruitment represents another step in the progress of Cleveland Clinic and the CCLRCBH providing excellent neurological care in Southern Nevada.

Mari attended the Albert Szent-Györgyi Medical University in Hungary before further medical training at the State University of New York and National Institute of Health. During his neurology residency, he became a staff member of the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. In his decade at Johns Hopkins University, Mari played an integral role in building the movement disorders program from the ground up, serving as director for multiple initiatives including the Dystonia Center, National Parkinson Foundation Center of Excellence and more.

A leading mind and innovator in the field of deep brain stimulation, Mari established Johns Hopkins’ Deep Brain Stimulation Center and developed multi-disciplinary programs that have helped pave the way for exceptional clinical care. While at Johns Hopkins, he created a movement disorder clinical fellowship program that has since trained eight fellows. Over the course of his career, Mari mentored a multitude of students, earning him several  top teaching awards and established numerous nationally prominent continuing medical education programs. In his new role at CCLRCBH and CNR, Mari plans to implement the use of deep brain stimulation and increase community outreach around the treatment.

In addition to overseeing the clinical care and diagnosis of patients with movement disorders, Mari plans to expand the program’s ongoing research and treatment initiatives. Mari hopes to increase remote care outreach to provide enhanced, comprehensive care to those living across Nevada, as well as increase the number of clinical trials for PD. With the information obtained from research trials, Mari will focus on using advanced imaging to learn more about the origins of PD in an effort to develop a disease modifying therapy.

HCA Far West Division Announces Appointment of Jeremy S. Bradshaw as Chief Executive Officer at MountainView Hospital

HCA Far West Division has named Jeremy S. Bradshaw as Chief Executive Officer of MountainView Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada. Bradshaw will assume responsibility of the 340-bed acute-care hospital on Jan. 1, 2017.

Bradshaw is a trusted healthcare executive with 13 years’ experience in healthcare. He is recognized in the healthcare industry as a progressive strategist who drives market growth through service line development, with a constant focus on patient safety and on improving the patient experience.

He returns to HCA from UHS where he most recently served as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Desert Springs Hospital, prior to which he held the role of Chief Operating Officer.

Among Bradshaw’s accomplishments while at Desert Springs, he focused on patient safety, leading the hospital to receive an A rating by the Leapfrog Group, and significantly impacting the reductions of hospital acquired infections through continued focus and accountability.

Prior to his time with UHS, Bradshaw was a member of the HCA family, working as Vice President — Operations & Cardiovascular Services at HealthOne — The Medical Center of Aurora, Colo. Bradshaw also served as director of Medical City Dallas Hospital’s transplant service line. He also has worked at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Min., as operations director over the transplant center, and as an administrative fellow.

Vidmar brings more than 10 years of administrative experience since joining Cleveland Clinic in 2006 and most recently worked in regional operations as the director of ambulatory operations for Cleveland Clinic’s Strongville Family Health and Surgery Center and Brunswick Family Health and Emergency Department.

Leading Memory Disorders Program Expands With Center-Trained Physician

Monday, July 25, 2016, Las Vegas – Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health welcomes a new staff neuropsychiatrist, Aaron Ritter, MD to the Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and Memory Disorders Program. Ritter joins the Center after a two-year fellowship with the Center’s Neurology and Neuropsychiatry Programs and specializes in neurodegenerative disorders, including AD. Ritter will lead the Center’s growing clinical trials program.

“Aaron is a talented and enthusiastic physician, who, through his fellowship here at the Center, is more than familiar with the outstanding patient care we provide,” said Dr. Jeffrey Cummings, director of Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health. “He’s already made countless contributions to the Center through providing patient care and with our Alzheimer’s disease research and treatment trials, including disinhibition and Rasagiline Rescue. Ritter received his training at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and moved to Las Vegas after completing a residency in psychiatry at the University of Arizona. Covering a spectrum of memory disorders, Ritter treats patients with AD, dementia with Lewy bodies and frontotemporal dementia.

In addition to providing patient care, Ritter will continue his work in clinical research. Serving as a sub-investigator on numerous clinical trials during his fellowship, he will provide leadership to the Center’s ongoing and upcoming research trials, which are dedicated to finding ways to better diagnose and treat neurodegenerative diseases.
