Southern Hills Hospital welcomes new Vice President of Human Resources Jennifer McDonell to its administration team. McDonell comes to Southern Hills with extensive experience in labor relations, recruitment and benefits administration.

“I am incredibly honored to join the Southern Hills Hospital team,” said Jennifer McDonell, Southern Hills Hospital Vice President of Human Resources. “I am grateful for the professional experience that I have had in my career thus far, and am excited to apply it in a healthcare setting where we are truly in the business of caring for people.”

McDonell most recently served as the HR Director for government contractor supporting the United States military. She was responsible for supporting employee relations in a union environment, recruitment, benefits administration, coaching and counseling. Prior to that, McDonell worked for 12 years at Jewish Senior Life in Rochester, NY as the HR Director.

Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health Announces New Development Director, Jody Ghanem

Ghanem, to oversee development and philanthropic funding

Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health welcomes Jody Ghanem as a development director. A Las Vegas resident of 40 years, Ghanem, has been actively involved in the Las Vegas community including the arts and education —, formerly an advisory board member at The Smith Center, the revitalization of Downtown, UNLV, Reno Medical School, St Viator’s Foundation and the Meadows School. In her new role, Ghanem will oversee the Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health’s philanthropic fundraising.

“We look forward to enhancing our philanthropy program under the direction of Jody,” said Larry Ruvo, Co-founder of Keep Memory Alive. “Not only has she been a known presence within the local community, she herself has been a caregiver and understands firsthand the significance of the work being done at the Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health.”

Ghanem joins the Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health after more than two years at Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino where she served as player development executive. Utilizing her networking skills and strong community presence, she will be responsible for building on the Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health’s philanthropy program, generating revenue and expanding the center’s support base.

 “As a former caregiver to my grandmother who suffered from Alzheimer’s disease, the mission of the Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health is one that I hold near to my heart,” Ghanem said. “I’m incredibly honored to be spearheading the philanthropy program and look forward to playing a role in supporting the ground-breaking initiatives happening here that will no doubt impact the world.”

Southwest Medical Associates Adds 11 New Healthcare Providers

Dr. Wahida Azimi, DO joins Southwest Medical’s Tenaya Health Care Center (2704 N. Tenaya Way) and works as a hospitalist. Azimi completed her medical training at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Pennsylvania and completed her residency at Christiana Care Health Systems in Wilmington, Delaware.

Aaron Bellow, APRN joins Southwest Medical’s Tenaya Health Care Center (2704 N. Tenaya Way) and works in the Home CarePlus division. Bellow completed his medical training at University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, Texas 

Michael Boucher, PA-C joins Southwest Medical’s Eastern Health Care Center (4475 S. Eastern Ave.) and specializes in urgent care. Boucher completed his medical training at Touro University in Henderson, Nevada.

Dr. Carlo Buena, MD joins Southwest Medical’s Montecito Health Care Center (7061 Grand Montecito Pkwy.) and specializes in adult medicine. Buena completed his medical training at University of Santo Tomas College of Medicine and Surgery in Manila, Philippines and completed his residency at East Tennessee State University James H. Quillen College of Medicine in Johnson City, Tennessee.

Dr. Lukasz Chebes, MD joins Southwest Medical’s Oakey Health Care Center (4750 W. Oakey Blvd.) and specializes in pain management. Chebes completed his medical training at Ohio State University College of Medicine in Columbus, Ohio and completed his residency at University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago.
